~Tina Harris~the Bird-Dove Lady~
Releasing White Doves at weddings has been a tradition for many years. White Doves are symbolic of new beginnings, peace, fidelity, love, luck and prosperity. Doves mate for life. Releasing White Doves is a perfect and unique way incorporate symbolism into your wedding day. And what a special way to join your new marriage as Husband and Wife.
Looking for something new and exciting to announce the gender of your little bundle of joy. Why not have a dove gender reveal? This is truly a surprise reveal when the cage is uncovered to reveal a blue or pink dove.
White Doves represent spirituality in its deepest sense. Traditional funeral stories told that doves carried the souls of deceased people to heaven. Adding a White Dove Release at a funeral or memorial service can bring peace and comfort to the bereaved as they watch the symbolic spirit of their loved ones ascent to heaven.
Whether you choose two doves, representing unity of life's journey as husband and wife or the grandeur of a White Flock Release, it is sure to be an unforgettable addition to your special day. White Doves can replace balloons, bubble blowing and seed throwing. This is also a very environmentally "green" friendly option.

ITS A BOY!!!
IS IT A BOY OR GIRL???
These have been some of my favorite releasing, knowing what the gender is and then watching the parents to be uncover and discover if they are having a boy or girl. Give me a call if you would like to add this unique idea to your baby shower/reveal party. This package will include 4 doves with 1 dyed the gender color. The baby gender dove along with 3 white doves will be released to fly home. The dye color used on the birds is safe for them.
ITS A GIRL!!!
It is truly an honor to be able to be a part of any memorial service for a loved one. Being able to share my birds and the peace that they offer to families with releasing the white doves is amazing. These little white birds are special.
Having an event that you would like to add a little something to it? Give me a call. I have done numerous charity and local events to honor loved ones.
Being a part of any event is meaningful to me. And then to continue to get calls to come back to release white doves at the next event is truly an honor. I enjoy getting to meet so many people and being able to share my birds; bringing peace and honor to any event.
Are they pigeons or doves? We raise and train white rock doves, also know as a white homing pigeon.
These are the only type of doves that should be released at outdoor events. These types of doves are able to fly back to their home but also are able to locate water and food if they happen to take a detour on the way home.
Why can't people go out and buy white doves from a pet shop and release them? Releasing white ringneck doves is cruel because they do not have the homing ability at all. They would become lost instantly upon release and become easy prey to cats, dogs and hawks. They are very poor flyers and are unable to fend for themselves. They can not be exposed to the elements without shelter or food as they rely on people to feed them. White ringneck doves do not know how to find food on their own.
How are our birds able to find their way home? Their ability to return home from short and long distances has long baffled scientists. No one quite knows how they are able to find their way home but it is believe to be linked to the Sun's position and the Earth's magnetic fields at any given time, although memory and landmarks may also play a role in their ability to find home.
What happens to the birds after they are released? Once the birds are released, it is their nature to want to return home to their mates and offspring. The birds will circle the area to get their bearings and then they will fly home.
How are they trained? We can't tell you-it's a trade secret!! Our birds are feed a very special diet and follow a weekly flying exercise program to keep them in great shape just like a highly trained athlete. They are trained to figure out where they are and to head home as fast a possible after being released.
What distance are the birds capable of flying back home from? Our birds are capable of returning home from several hundred miles away. But it sometime takes many hours for them to fly that great of a distance. Therefore, we limit them to shorter distances so that they do not get to exhausted flying homes especially in the heat that we have in the South.
Can we hold the birds and release them by hand? Yes you can. We will show you the correct way to hold and release our birds by hand. If the weather is extremely hot, we may not allow hand releasing as the birds need to get out of the baskets and in the air quickly so they do not get to hot.
Can they be released inside? No, definitely not. The birds are not trained for indoor releases and cannot find their way outside. They will panic and fly into windows and objects hurting themselves. We do offer doves that can be on display in a cage for inside use. But they are not to be released.
What if the weather is bad? A refund (less deposit) will be issued should we be on location and weather conditions become bad. As in heavy rain or extreme wind. Our birds CAN NOT be released under the following conditions: thunder, lightning, tornado/hurricane advisory, heavy rain, high winds, fog, snow or ice.
Do doves mate for life? YES!!! Doves do mate for life or until one of partners dies. This lifelong commitment is one of the reasons doves are a popular symbol for marriage.
